Associate | New York

Sanzida Talukder is an Associate Attorney at the New York Office of Neville Peterson LLP. She is admitted to practice in New York State, before the U.S. Court of International Trade, and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. She concentrates her practice in Customs and International Trade matters, including tariff classification, appraisement, rules of origin, trade remedies and related litigation. She previously served as a Summer Associate at the firm, where she contributed to trials, litigation, and administrative proceedings.
As a child of two Bangladeshi immigrant parents, Sanzida set out to pursue Pre-Medicine at the Macaulay Honors College at the City College of New York to fulfill her parents’ wishes. When she took her first college-level Chemistry class, she realized that she would have to disappoint her parents and pursue legal studies instead (her true desire). Without much guidance in the community that she grew up in, Sanzida applied and got accepted in the Pre-law Skadden program at the City College of New York, which provided her the confidence in continuing her legal education.
As the former Amnesty International Bronx Science chapter secretary, Sanzida wanted to work in the international law field. So, she applied and got accepted in the CUNY Law and City College Dual Degree Program to obtain her Juris Doctorate and Masters in International Relations. Throughout her time in law school and the master’s program, she worked as a judicial intern for Honorable Lisa S. Headley; a compliance intern at Kasirer LLC; a research associate at Neville Peterson LLP; a summer legal intern at Lawyers Alliance for New York; and a student attorney at Main Street Legal Services, Inc. After completing her dual degree program, she worked as a staff attorney at the Housing Conservation Coordinators, Inc., which helped hone and build Sanzida’s litigation skills. She has brought these experiences and skills to Neville Peterson to navigate the dynamic world of international trade. Now, she is finally living her dream of working in the international law field.
Outside of the legal field, Sanzida can be found on basketball and pickleball courts.
